for $1,945 plus material hauling and dinners.

Somehow this contract generated a little buzz among contractors.

Poynette Wis April 24th 1895

This agreement made and entered into this 24th day of April 1895 by and between F. L. Lindsay, Party of the first part and S. O. Young party of the second part Witnesseth that F. L. Lindsay party of the first part agrees to build and complete a house on said S. O. Youngs farm at the above named place.

Said F. L. Lindsay agrees to do all Labor of carpenter work. Plastering Painting, Tinning and all other labor used in the Erection and completion of such house, and to furnish all material as discribed in Specifications.

Said F. L. Lindsay agrees to pay all help when performed and to show to said S. O. Young from time to time that all help is being paid.

All labor to be performed in a thorough Workman like manner, it is distinctly understood that no changes are to be made in plans or material used unless agreed on by said F. L. Lindsay and S. O. Young.

Said S. O. Young agrees to haul all material, and to be placed on the ground where building is to be Erected in good condition, and to give dinners to all help employed on said building free of charge.

Said S. O. Young agrees to make Payments as follows

Six hundred + Forty Seven dollars ($647.00) when building is Enclosed and roof Shingled.

Six hundred + Forty Seven dollars ($647.00) when building is Enclosed Lathed and plastered all Ready for Plastering.

Six hundred + Forty Six dollars ($646.00) when said building is all complete, Plastered, Painted, and completed in a thorough workmanlike manner.

Same to be turned over to Said S. O. Young free from all material bills and Mechanics Liens.
